DZ Deathrays and Sampology recently decided to try something a little left field. They combined 4 DZ Deathrays tracks, recorded a bunch of footage in front of a green screen and then Sampology went crazy with it and mashed it the fuck up.

THINGS WE FROTH: NO HOPE – EIGHTEEN

Posted on: November 12th, 2011 by iohyou 3 Comments

It’s days like this that I stop stressing about work and just sit back and realise how fucking lucky I am to be able to work with the bands and people I do…and call that my full time job. Our boy Alex Wall (who is the singer of Bleeding Knees Club) occasionally uploads tracks online under the moniker of ‘No Hope’. This morning he sent me an email with a youtube link to his No Hope’s newest track ‘Eighteen’. It’s killer. A 5minute glitch pop track which is playful as fuck, it’s nearly like a fun version of Youth Lagoon. Check it out below.

SNAKADAKTAL SIGN TO I OH YOU AND ANNOUNCE HEADLINE AUSTRALIAN TOUR

Posted on: October 3rd, 2011 by iohyou 2 Comments

PRESS RELEASE: 3RD OCTOBER 2011

In late 2010 the four housemates and all-round nice guys at I OH YOU went to party at a club called Purple Sneakers. They got to the club pretty early in order to take advantage of the happy hour but instead ended up being entranced by intricate indie pop tunes of the opening act for the night, a fresh faced five-piece band called Snakadaktal. After spending the rest of the night conversing with the band over glasses of Coca Cola, the two groups of friends had stayed in contact and bounced ideas off each other in the months that followed.

I OH YOU are now ecstatic to let you know that they have increased their wolf pack (which consists of Bleeding Knees Club and DZ Deathrays) by one through signing the recently crowned Triple J Unearthed High champions and will be releasing Snakadaktal’s ridiculously amazing debut self-titled EP this November!

To say that 2011 has been a big year for the five teenagers in Snakadaktal would be a giant understatement. Having been recently thrust into the limelight through their Unearthed High victory courtesy of their stunning single ‘Chimera’ and accompanying film clip that has now clocked up over 70,000 views on the Internet, the band has been met with a whirlwind of media coverage, show requests and new fans. After re-recording their utterly beautiful follow up single ‘Air’ (a track that showcases both Sean and Phoebe’s remarkable emotive and provoking vocals) with Triple J a few weeks ago, the band once again impressed the Australian public and claimed the 3rd most played song on Triple J a few weeks back…. an impressive accomplishment considering they’re still tackling their VCE.

With the wheels well and truly in motion, Snakadaktal have arrived and are now pleased to announce a run of headline dates through Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland to support their upcoming EP release. These dates will no doubt see the five-piece continue to astonish music listeners with musical abilities that stretch far beyond the borders of the Melbourne Rudolf Steiner High School.
