In the lead-up to her highly anticipated fourth studio album, Canadian artist Grimes has shared a track from the archives of 2013, titled ‘REALiti’. Originally recorded as a demo for the first (now scrapped) version of her forthcoming album, REALiti is an homage to an extensive tour of Asia which included Hong Kong, Tokyo and Singapore amongst many others and evokes flashbacks to the more serene and ethereal moments on 2012’s Visions LP. The shifting style and aesthetic for the project came under scrutiny with 2014’s decidedly dubstep-inspired single ‘Go’ and it seems that on REALiti, the focus is firmly back on creating surging pop music that nods effortlessly to future RnB and bubbling electronica as it draws you in.
