Following on from four already stellar single releases lifted from Jamie xx’s debut LP In Colour, the British producer today gave us a brand new cut titled ‘I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times), featuring Young Thug and Popcaan. Anthemic and rejoiceful; this is potentially the biggest ‘pop’ moment we’ve heard from In Colour so far and the features work so well to change things up to a new dynamic, filling those eerie and far away corners within the instrumentation that Jamie usually employs so clinically. I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times) is yet another flourishing release from an album that clearly sets out to pay homage and celebrate so many of this rising producer’s influences. As far as we can tell – he’s going to succeed in spectacular fashion.
