New Zealand trio Yumi Zouma have had an impressive 2014 with the success of their self-titled EP and the extensive touring which followed on. Having just announced a partnership with Spunk Records for Australia and New Zealand, we’re pretty excited on the first taste of their forthcoming sophomore EP titled ‘Alena’. The single builds a powerful foundation from the melancholic opening melodies; it’s a more driving and purposeful effort that draws a light onto intricate electronica rather than the previously guitar centric material heard on their debut EP (see: The Brae). Alena is an assured stylistic progression for Yumi Zouma and further solidifies their ability to create rewarding, modern pop music.
