Teaming up with Chicago rapper Mick Jenkins for the latest in a stellar run of collaborative singles, Toronto outfit BADBADNOTGOOD have delivered in spades with ‘Hyssop Of Love’. The single is lifted from a forthcoming LP titled ‘IV’ and continues a blistering run of form for the band, who have well and truly charged to the forefront of the instrumental hip hop/jazz scene in recent years. Jenkins is a brilliant pairing for the single – his lowly slung vocals fill the cavernous instrumental and create a brilliant sense of urgency throughout the sprawl that could almost go on for days. Really excellent.
‘IV’ is out on Friday July 8 on POD/Inertia Music. Pre-order it HERE.
