LISTEN: Bushwalking – High Hogs

With members coming together from both Melbourne and Sydney, Bushwalking are a three piece who grabbed our attention with their debut LP ‘First Time’ midway through 2012. Last month we were thrilled with the bands comeback single ‘No Enter’ and yesterday saw the outfit gaining some much deserved international traction via a Pitchfork premiere for the stunning new release ‘High Hogs’. It has become increasingly evident that this is a band set to make their mark and High Hogs succeeds in delivering a gritter, more dense sound which is concise yet maintains an unchained sense of rawness. High Hogs is disarming in many ways, it begins with shimmering guitars which are soon punctuated with thundering kicks as lead vocalist Ela Stiles resonates with grace, questioning “Should I push or just go slow?”. This is a track which captures subtle and intriguing stylistic progression for this stellar young band and in doing so has created a palpable sense of anticipation for their forthcoming LP at the I OH YOU office. Details below.

Bushwalking are set to release No Enter on September 6 via Chapter Music.
