FROTH OF THE DAY: CUT COPY – LET ME SHOW YOU LOVE

Melbourne’s Cut Copy yesterday released a proper stream of their new single ‘Let Me Show You Love’. The single, which was released initially in a 120 vinyl form run, marks the return of the four-piece following on from 2011’s widely heralded ‘Zonoscope’. This track is one of the most exciting we’ve heard in the last little while, it combines classic Cut Copy pop nuances with building subtle electronic elements and immediately invokes memories of the 90’s era when Primal Scream reigned supreme and when the acid house/guitar sound broke our minds into millions of pieces. The build in this track really takes it’s time, and as a result, the payoff is mind-melting. Dan Whitfords vocals somehow harmonize the throbbing elements even though as the video suggests, there’s a plethora of components building to create a distorted yet concise sound. We could go on forever, but we’re glad to have our hometown boys back!
