Always blue press shot

Friends of the blog and psych-pop wunderkinds Foreign/National returned at the beginning of this week with their new single titled ‘Always Blue’. This song is the first taste of their next two-track release and was co-produced with Joey Walker (King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard). Always Blue touches on 1960’s Bossa Nova whilst retaining the band’s signature crunch, it’s instantly warm and fuzzy. There’s mocking riffs, floating harmonies and immersive lyrics – the tale of a toxic romance unfurls with vocalist Mark Gage’s every word. As the presser reads, ‘Always Blue is a moment of pain given clarity by hypnotic melody: a story told over and over until it makes perfect sense’.

Foreign/National will celebrate the release of Always Blue at Melbourne’s Hugs & Kisses on February 28th, with special guests Good Morning and Crepes. TICKETS HERE.
