They say there’s no rest for the wicked. Well, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard could certainly be given such a tag with their relentless run of output in recent times. Following on from the brilliant I’m In Your Mind Fuzz, the band today announced plans for the release of their next LP titled Quarters. The quite literally named album is set to feature just 4 songs – each clocking in at 10 minutes and 10 seconds. One of those four has been cut into a snippet for you to hear today and it’s enough to get the blood pumping in anticipation for yet another excursion into the psyche of the Melbourne outfit. ‘God Is In The Rhythm’ feels less dense than the band’s most recent material but still holds a firm swagger, oozing psych-jazz from winding guitars and setting a firm tone with decidedly forlorn lyrics.
