Canadian duo Majical Cloudz first had us completely hooked with their sophomore record Impersonator and have at long last returned with the first taste from their next LP Are You Alone?. Our featured single today, ‘Silver Car Crash’, is a poignant example of what Majical Cloudz do so well; minimal, swirling arrangements and stark lyricism contrast with devastating results. I’ve heard the phrase ‘epiphany pop’ thrown around a lot recently – but it only really seems to find a home when describing the music that these two have been tirelessly crafting. In a word: arresting.
