A few days ago Mazzy Star released new single ‘California’, the first track off the forthcoming LP ‘Seasons Of Your Day’ which is the first in 17 years for the Santa Monica Alt-Rock outfit. The track took us by surprise yesterday, coming just a year after a spellbinding performance at the 2012 Coachella Music and Arts Festival. The track itself is a melancholic exploration of dream pop, wistful vocals and as always, mesmerizing guitars which really build a phenomenal base for the track to grow on. The LP is certainly going to be an interesting release, coming so long after it’s predecessors and has already been described as “music for lovers, music for broken hearts” by it’s own creators.
