I’ve become so enamoured with this song. In the eight hours since I’ve heard it I’ve been listening over and over, hearing new sounds and melodies each time and trying to make sense of the production. Melody’s Echo Chamber are back with the first taste from album number two and oh boy, are we excited to share this. The self-produced and released ‘Shirim’ is a funk laden slice of avant-garde pop brilliance, warped and wonderfully produced and flanked by out of tune synthesizers that lift Melody’s vocals onto another plane completely. Shirim certainly succeeds in acknowledging it’s place along the pop music continuum whilst surging forward and opening new doors with each pivotal moment. We’ll have to wait until 2015 to hear the album, so for now, it’s time to hit play again.
