FROTH OF THE DAY: PANSY – GIVE IT AWAY

By March 15, 2017 No Comments

Almost six months ago now, the Australian and greater worldwide music communities lost an incredibly talented artist, Fergus Miller. Under the guises of Bored Nothing, Wedding Ring Bells et al, he moulded some of the country’s most poetic lo-fi and garage pop songs, mirroring the ferocious skill of Elliott Smith, Car Seat Headrest, Conor Oberst and the like. Pansy is the project he and wife Anna Davidson (of Major Leagues) formed, a stunning collaborative act where some of their most emotive creations were gifted to us in the form of gorgeously wordy singles that would make Alex G swoon. Anna, alongside close friends of Ferg’s have been working over the past few months on finishing Pansy’s debut release – ‘Give It Away’ is the latest cut to be released from it. A beautifully layered and raw exchange between the two songwriters, a whirling tale spun by Ferg and Anna in partnership. The track is a painful reminder of a beautiful and unique human gone far too soon, but with a full length Pansy record to come, alongside Anna’s insane work of her own – Fergus Miller will always be with us.

Expect Pansy’s record sometime in 2017.
