Michigan beat-maker Shigeto (AKA Zachary Shigeto Saginaw) has us losing our minds here at I OH YOU. Hot off the trail of the expansive new track, ‘Detroit Part 1’, we’ve had no choice but to share this with you immediately. The track brings us a futuristic take on a journey which flows from sounding like a full blown hip hop beat one second, to transforming into a glitch-acid style trip the next. The beauty of this is track is that it somehow manages to be both sparse and dense at the same time, the layered elements which are driven by crunchy percussion and jazz centered keys transform as the song progresses with stunning results. The producer was last in the country in late 2012 for a tour which centered around Sydneys groundbreaking OutsideIn Festival.
