Since the release of their debut LP Comfort we haven’t heard too much from Splashh, but today the internet gods have provided and we’ve been treated to the first taste of LP number 2 with their new single titled ‘Colour It In’. It’s the start of a new chapter for the project and manages to fuse the traditionally disparate elements of warm slacker and psych rock with eerily dehumanised electronica and stirring, raw percussion. If the sounds on this aren’t completely removed enough to provide you with just a little bit of escapism – the Errol Rainey & Toto Vivian directed video is a completely tripped out voyage into pop culture featuring rapid snippets of various footage which somehow manage to create a bizarre line of continuity. We had to press play quite a few times to get a hold on it, which can only be a good thing.
