Brisbane five-piece The Belligerents today released ‘Caroline’, the excellent second single from their highly anticipated debut LP Science Fiction. Beginning with jaunty pulsing organ, you’d peg it as a psychedelic strain of chamber pop— right before a chorus splits the whole thing open and leaves you in a technicolour pastoral wonderland. Just as you’re floating back down to earth, the last third kicks into a four-to-the-floor hippie freakout, the Summer of Love ‘67 and the Summer of Love ‘89 finally meeting in the rave tent at Woodstock. Full credit.
‘Caroline’ is lifted from The Belligerents forthcoming debut LP, Science Fiction. The band are also hitting the road in October:
