The search for our daily feature was cut decidedly short this morning once we hit play on this one. Melbourne bad boys The Smith Street band have announced their new record Throw Me in the River and released an emphatic new single titled ‘Surrender’. The track is a rambunctious testament to growing up, fighting back and taking control – something the four-piece have demonstrated with flying colours on their meteoric rise over their past two LP releases and countless tours. Will Wagner had a few words to say of the single, noting that Surrender is related to “not wanting to force your vices or negative aspects of your personality onto someone else. It’s about finding hope and meaning in little existence and day-to-day life, instead of just coasting through and being numb.”
