We’ve been waiting for this one for a while now. Following their two brilliant singles ‘Multi Love’ and ‘Can’t Keep Checking My Phone’, Portland via New Zealand outfit Unknown Mortal Orchestra have released an advanced stream of their third LP. Multi Love has signalled a stylistic progression from hazy psychedelic rock that regularly championed explosive, crunchy percussion into a more polished and clean modern R’n’B/pop sound – it feels comfortable. There’s an underlying sense of joy throughout this album, even when it reminisces on sullen times and troubles of relationships of the past. UMO’s Multi Love could potentially be the most reinvigorating album of 2015.
