I get around downtempo house as much as the next guy (I’m not sure how much that is exactly), but it does take a certain type of track to punch through the noise. And newcomer, Luboku has done just exactly that with ‘Without You’. Its warm synth-line reels you in slowly, whilst the punchy glitches and atmospheric vocals pulsate around you. The longer you sit with it, the more the melancholy vibe begins to disintegrate, leaving a powerful club production to plough through your mind. It all feels very… Jacques Greene, and that’s something I can really get behind. Onwards and upwards, young Luboku.
