Ross From Friends has dropped the second taste of this debut full length and boy it’s a real beauty. ‘Pale Blue Dot’ is a subtle production, laced with bubbling percussion and outlying keywork, with a familiar downtempo pace and flow, and yet there’s so much space to play in here. This spaciousness offers a comforting, welcoming vibe, and considering that the album is to play out as an ode to Friends’ father (also conveyed in its accompanying clip) – it makes so much sense. It’s like a warm blanket on the couch inviting you to get all toasty, and since it’s fucking cold in Melbourne, that’s exactly what I need right now.
Ross From Friends new LP, Family Portrait, is due July 27 via Brainfeeder.
