World Champion are back, and they are sounding damn sharp. ‘Gun’ is the first we’ve heard since 2015 or so from the three-piece psych-pop legends, and it’s like they never left. To be perfectly honest with you, this is probably the best they’ve sounded to date. You’ve got all the elements you need to consider ‘Gun’ a total and utter bop. A cruisy bass line, a classic dance beat, some ripper falsetto, echoing vocals, warm as fuck synths, a few wobbles and a delivery that will get you grooving around the house and annoying your friends and family by stealing the aux/bluetooth speakers constantly. Whatever the weather is doing today, summer is right here in this track. Don’t even care how corny that is to say, just get off my case and enjoy it you miserable son of a bitch.
