LISTEN: CHET FAKER – Melt (Feat. Kilo Kish)
Melbourne’s Chet Faker today released new single ‘Melt’, featuring vocals from rising Amerian songwriter Kilo Kish. The track is the latest offering since the previously featured ‘Fool of Me’ alongside sister duo Say Lou Lou in early May and features a minimalistic and sparse feel which works to great effect. Melt deals with the interaction between a male and female, with both sides represented as an inner turmoil begins to overshadow. Kilo Kish shines in the second verse and adds an energy which jumps out as the back and forth structure continues as each side of the story is told. Transitioning from an almost spoken word style initially, Melt really hits the mark as it progresses and as Chet provides contrast via superb vocals and a killer vocal melody. We’ve been blown away by this release today, the tasteful and poetic convergence of electronic and R’n’B elements is a sound we can’t wait to hear a lot more from when his debut LP is released! Melbourne represent!
