“I think you’re a joke but I don’t find you very funny”, Courtney Barnett bellows across her brilliant new single. It’s immediately in your head. Brutally honest and even when indifferent, delivered with seething conviction. That’s the score and it’s always as clear as day with this Melbourne artist. ‘Pedestrian At Best’ is rough around the edges in all the right places, rollicking guitar lines soar and create a bittersweet contrast throughout every pivotal moment, and the Charlie Ford clip tells a visually striking tale, an ode to errors and misconstrued emotion. Can you tell that we like it yet?
