Today’s feature is a piece of garage/post punk goodness straight out of the UK from brothers Eoin and Rory Loveless. Drenge are fast becoming known for their lyrically driven, ferociously paced rock music which takes a turn from the norm. ‘Backwaters’ is a textured piece which bleeds vitality through soaring hooks and cutting percussion, and at times is reminiscent of a more four to the floor version of the Editors. As the song surges, duelling vocals intertwine as the instrumental chaos unfolds and influences from grunge and brit-pop seep through in tandem. It’s a combination we’ve become very fond of, and we can’t wait to hear more from this duo.
