In the lead-up to the release of their sixth LP Why Make Sense, Hot Chip have today shared the driving new single ‘Need You Now’. Taking a more intricate route than last month’s banging tune ‘Huarache Lights’, Need You Now places emphasis on recurring samples and bubbling synthesizers, with vocalist Alexis Taylor musing drearily on the ideals of loneliness, depression and angst. The Shynola directed clip is genuinely one of the best things I’ve seen this year, too. Superbly shot and written to perfect sync with the tidal moods and emotions within the song. Look no further for this week – we can all go home.
