Melbourne’s Indian Summer are here to cure the Monday blues today with their brand new track ‘Shiner’, which features vocals from Missy of Ginger & The Ghost. The duo have made waves over the past 18 months, largely for their productions which have included originals ‘Foreign Formula’, ‘No Use’, ‘Aged Care’ (feat. Benjamin Joesph from SAFIA) and a slew of remixes for artists such as Elizabeth Rose, The Aston Shuffle and Jessie Andrews. Shiner is the sound of Indian Summer honing their craft in a very big way. The track carefully straddles the line between palatable pop and immersive, left of centre club music without ever dissuading purists of either. The pulsing nature of the track is lifted by Missy’s vibrant vocals onto a plane which bleeds colour and life to no end. We’re still not sure if this is meant for the club or our office stereo – but maybe that’s the point.
