Melbourne’s Japanese Wallpaper has a way of providing us with a sense of refreshing contrast whenever we hear a new release. Never mind the fact that he’s only 16 years old and can play 9 instruments, this is a producer who has shown great depth and a remarkable versatility in the time since we first heard of him. Previous releases have included a stellar re-work of our own City Calm Down and a previous collaboration with Brisbane’s own Wafia on a wild remix of her original, ‘Alice’. ‘Breathe In’ signals the first track from a forthcoming EP and immediately struck us as a delicate and highly refined piece which is patient as it blends subtle electronic elements, organic percussion and softly sung vocals. Check it out.
