The next taste of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s forthcoming Quarters LP is here, and we think you’re going to dig it. The River, like its three album counterparts, clocks in at ten minutes and works nicely to bridge the stylistic gap between the previous material from I’m In Your Mind Fuzz and the evolving sonic landscape of the project’s future. This psych-jazz epic feels thoroughly organic as it develops, integrating cascading guitars and jaunted 5/4 percussion to create a feeling of space to excellent effect. A reinvigorated sound, grossly engaging visuals and that vocal melody – so good it’ll inhabit your head for the rest of the evening. What more could you ask for from the next ten minutes?
