LISTEN: Seeake – Test & Recognise
Sydney/London trio Seekae have revealed some long awaited details on LP number three along with their stunning new single, ‘Test & Recognise’. The album titled ‘The Worry’ has been in the works for two years and signals the dawn of a new configuration for the band, with percussionist (and esteemed solo artist) Alex Cameron stepping up to take on vocal duties for the first time. Test & Recognise initially seems like everything which the +DOME material was not, although that’s not to say that it’s a jarring transition by any means, at least not in our books. The uptempo nature of the track plays into the strength of Cameron’s vocals whilst still acknowledging the intricate story telling abilities of the dense and at times chaotic instrumentation throughout. Just a dense line of warm synths ties everything up and washes away any feeling of anguish. It’s over – but not for too much longer..
Seekae will release their third LP The Worry via Future Classic on September 12, 2014.
