Somehow between his work with Midnight Juggernauts and lending a hand to one of the countries fastest growing and most well respected labels, Siberia Records, Melbourne’s Andy Szekeres has found the time to release a terrific 3-track EP under his new moniker; Turkish Prison. ‘Ancient City’ is the first single and it marks an inspired foray into a sound that delves deep into a wash of swirling tribal percussion and finely constructed synths. Whilst there’s melodic nods to projects of past, perhaps the most exciting part of this release is where it seeks to take the listener. It’s a sweet sounding vacation which is as ambitious as it is welcome. Oh, and there’s a pretty sweet video too!
