Local Madchester scene revivalists Jagwar Ma have finally let us in with the scoop on their first LP Howlin which has been primed for a June 10th release date. In the meantime, the follow up single to ‘The Throw‘ is the down tempo, acid house laden ‘Man I Need‘. The track is somewhat of a progression on the already stellar release from earlier this year, however this time vocal harmonies and booming tribal drums are traded for acid house layers alongside airy vocals and organic sounds which work in unison to create a 9 minute journey for the senses. Few local acts excite us as much as Jagwar Ma do, they’ve already been scooped up by Europe’s biggest festivals (See: Glastonbury/Bestival etc.) for the Summer and following a cancelled Australian tour, Splendour in the Grass remains the only date locked in to catch the guys live.
