Over the last little while, Los Angeles singer/songwriter BANKS has been making quite the impression with a handful of formidable single releases. Having worked with the likes of SOHN, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and most recently with Lil Silva for today’s feature, the project has undoubtedly found an immediate sense of comfort which, whilst unrestrained by genre, has held strong direction. Today’s featured single Goddess is the title track from her forthcoming debut album. There’s an instantly recognizable contrast between her soulful R&B vocals and the garage inspired beat which never quite bubbles over, almost frustratingly so, but in doing so sets the perfect scene for BANKS to shine.
Banks’ debut LP Goddess is due for release on September 9th.
