Majical Cloudz are a duo made up of Devon Welsh and Matthew Otto who hail from Canada, and according to the readily available information we researched, they see the project as a “negative and ecstatic musical project and event”. All rubbish rhetoric aside, the recently released sophomore album ‘Impersonator’ has been on high rotation in the office. It’s quite different to anything we’ve featured before, but this is a significant brand of soul music with a pop-flair that is undeniable. Featured track ‘Bugs Don’t Buzz’ doesn’t deviate from this formula and proves to be one of the more shining moments on the album, slowly building as rolling percussive elements gently bleed into the mix.
