Today’s feature comes from Mutual Benefit (A.k.a Jordan Lee) in the form of ‘Golden Wake’, a single from his 2013 LP ‘Love’s Crushing Diamond’. This is an album which we’ve grown very fond of since it’s release, in a year when hype and fanfare has characterized many releases, this LP was the first we had heard of the producer and still provides something different on every listen. ‘Golden Wake’ is a youthful and exuberant exploration of modern day alternative pop. Awashed with strings and carefully placed vocals, it’s hard not to be drawn into the escapism which even it’s title promises.
